    Brother Luke Hall, Gregory Hills

First show. We had formed not long before this, roughly 2 weeks. At this point in time, our band name was still "75%" and we were an alternative rock band. We were being headed by a love of Nirvana and Foo Fighters at the time, and we were all like 14. You can't blame us. So, the first song we had started to learn was 'All Star' by Smash Mouth; we were probably about 3 days into even learning it when we got asked by a teacher if we wanted to play it in front of school at our annual carnival. "Why not?" Who would've thought. I remember before the show we were backstage and I was flipping out. I had never played the drums in front of anyone. Hell, I hadn't played much at all. I had been asked to join a band by a friend of mine and thought it sounded fun. Now I actually had to be part of the band. Our guitarist at the time told me 'being nervous means you care about it.' So we got out there and we played the shit out of 'All Star.' It was bloody awful in hindsight but it kicked off what would soon become BBUD. Between this and out next show, our bassist Jude Potts quit the band, and we got a redhead singer named Joshua Heylin who took our pretty mundane levels of energy and ran with it. Looking back on this show is always funny. NOFX like to call themselves 'world's most improved band.' They haven't met us.

    Setlist:

    1. All Star (Smash Mouth)

Members: William Degeling (vocals), Jacob Pace (vocals), Lachlan New (guitar), Jude Potts (bass), Harvey Clissold (keyboard), Jason Lee (drums)

    Brother Luke Hall, Gregory Hills

This was our second ever show. From the point where we had first performed the previous year at school, people seemed to have taken a liking to us - and as a result we had a pretty substantial crowd there watching us. So much so, they almost tore the metal barriers concreted in right out of the concrete. Had this show not have gone quite as well as it did, there is a very good chance that we would have just decided this wasn't going to do much of anything and would have broken up right then and there. Alas, we're still together. For now. This was the first show where we dropped the weird alt-rock era, ditched the keyboard and became basically a shit-house pop punk Chats rip-off.

    Setlist:

    1. All Star (Smash Mouth

    2. Welcome To Paradise (Green Day)

    3. 6L GTR (The Chats)

    4. American Idiot (Green Day)

    5. Wild In The Streets (Garland Jeffreys)

    6. Dammit (blink-182)

    7. Territorial Pissings (Nirvana)

    8. Smoko (The Chats)

    9. I'm The One (Descendents)

    10. Everlong (Foo Fighters)

    Brother Luke Hall, Gregory Hills

At some point, someone realised that we must have been the only band in the entire school. So they started asking us to do performances for those giant assemblies and stuff. You know, you get funneled into a hall and they run through the fomalities. And then, we come out. Here's an interesting difference between this show and just about any other show of ours that you would be familiar with. There was not a lick of punk music played at this show. Not even a little bit. We were asked by the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander co-ordinator at our school to perform 'Solid Rock' by Goanna. It was for the NAIDOC Week assembly at school. By some facet of a miracle we ended up performing 'Solid Rock' for about 3 years or so. At our first few shows our mates would call for it and it became the 'fan favourite.' We had a good time putting this one together - it was probably the first time we proved we could do more than just classic alternative rock or punk-ish. I actually miss playing this one a bit,

    Setlist:

    1. Solid Rock (Goanna)

Members: William Degeling (vocals), Jacob Pace (vocals), Lachlan New (guitar), Harvey Clissold (bass), Jason Lee (drums)

    La Valla Centre, Gregory Hills

I wish I could remember more about this show. It was part of something at school called 'Winter Serenade' which was effectively a student music showcase. If I remember correctly we were told we could only play 2 songs but we ended up doing 3 and thought we were such little rebels. This show had a lot of equipment issues - amps were turning off, mics were cutting in and out and I believe there was an argument because someone thought someone else was turning off their equipment on purpose. This show was fun for sure but I would be lying if I said it was very memorable. I'm sure we were great.. maybe ok. This is notably the first time we ever played Bro Hymn, which is still a staple of our set all these years later. Impressive.

    Setlist:

    1. Breed (Nirvana)

    2. Welcome To Paradise (Green Day)

    3. Bro Hymn (Pennywise)

Members: Joshua Heylin (vocals), William Degeling (vocals), Jacob Pace (vocals), Lachlan New (guitar), Harvey Clissold (bass), Jason Lee (drums)

Thanks for checking us out. We love ya! <3
